There's a reason schools come with schoolyards — education is only as good as the surface it's played on.

The Schoolyard Curriculum

Growing up in Brooklyn meant learning some of the finer points of education — how winning and losing are two sides of the same coin as long as regret isn't part of the equation.

The demonization of failure led to the deification of mediocrity where no records were broke but no feelings were hurt. Fighters went undefeated as long as they never fought — like the self-identifying actors forever taking classes but rarely going on auditions.

Life is not a spectator sport. Failure is not an option — how you perceive it is. If falling down is failing, maybe it's time for a different dictionary.

What Boxing Teaches

01

Winning & Losing

Two sides of the same coin, as long as regret isn't part of the equation. The ring teaches you to lose with dignity and win with humility.

02

Failure as Teacher

The demonization of failure led to the deification of mediocrity. If falling down is failing, maybe it's time for a different dictionary.

03

Life Is Not Spectator

Fighters went undefeated as long as they never fought — like self-identifying actors forever taking classes but rarely going on auditions.

04

Perception Is Everything

Failure is not an option — how you perceive it is. The schoolyard taught us that the lesson is in how you get back up.
